Gaithersburg couple carjacked outside their home
Police search for two suspects
The 58-year-old man and his 57-year-old wife had just arrived at their home in the 12200 block of McDonald Chapel Drive shortly before 4:40 a.m., according to Montgomery County Police. As the man was parking his car, two men armed with handguns approached the car, forced the victims out and pushed them to the ground, police said. The suspects took the victims' Toyota Camry and the woman's purse with cash in it.
Police officers later found the stolen Toyota abandoned at the corner of Copen Meadow Drive and Darnestown Road in Gaithersburg.
The suspects were described as black males in their early 20s, 6 feet tall, weighing between 160 and 180 pounds. They were wearing dark blue jeans and black winter jackets.
