Armored truck robbed in Aspen Hill
Montgomery County Police are searching for a man who robbed a Dunbar armored truck at gunpoint in Aspen Hill on Wednesday morning.
At approximately 11:54 a.m., 4th District police officers responded to the Wachovia Bank, located at 3852 International Drive in the Leisure World Shopping Center, for the report of an armed robbery of a Dunbar armored truck, said Capt. Paul Starks, a police spokesman.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a Dunbar employee was approached from behind by a man who displayed a shotgun and demanded cash, police said. The employee complied and the man fled from the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police said no one was injured during the incident.
