Glenmont man dies hours after Tuesday shooting
Montgomery police looking for two men who fled scene
The 19-year-old man who was shot Tuesday in Glenmont died several hours later, and county police say they are searching for two men they believe to be responsible.
Police have called the shooting a homicide.
Doodley Linsey Derose was found around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday with at least one gunshot wound in his upper body, police said. He was inside his house in the 1600 block of Hutchinson Lane, where he lived with his parents, said Cpl. Dan Friz, a Montgomery County Police spokesman.
Police searched for two men with helicopters, dogs and officers, and nearby Kennedy High School briefly was put on a Code Blue. Code Blue means all students must be accounted for, but classroom instruction can continue, according to the Montgomery County Public Schools website. Classrooms do not have to be locked down.
Derose was taken to Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, where he died.
Police think the two men went to Derose's residence, shot him and fled. They had not released a description of the men or any vehicle they might have used to get away by early Wednesday afternoon.
Neighbor Martino Araujo said there was a party at that same house a few months ago and gunshots were fired into the air.
County police spokeswoman Lucille Baur said police responded to a call for disorderly conduct at that address in August and found a party spilling out into the street. She said the person who placed the call did not mention shots being fired.
A call to the house on Wednesday was not answered, and no one answered the door after the shooting on Tuesday.
