Queen Anne earns another narrow win
Haley notched seventh consecutive double-double as Lions improve to 7-3
For the seventh game in a row, Haley recorded double-figure points (21) and rebounds (14), to lead Queen Anne to its sixth consecutive win, 50-47, over Covenant Life. Haley was at his best in the fourth quarter, scoring Queen Anne's final seven points as the Lions withstood a late rally from Covenant Life. Junior reserve David Caldwell also came up big for Queen Anne, scoring five points while defending Covenant Life's 6-foot-7 standout J.D. Garris.
The victory came one night after the Lions held off Edmund Burke, 49-48, as Haley had 23 points and 13 rebounds
Queen Anne enters the Christmas break with a 7-3 record and a 5-1 mark in the Potomac Valley Athletic Conference. The team will play in the National High School Coaches Association High School Basketball Festival Dec. 28-30 in Salisbury. The Lions are scheduled for games on Dec. 28 against Laurel (Del.) High and Wicomico High, and another game on Dec. 29 against and Parkside High of Wicomico.
