All-Gazette Boys' Soccer
Player of the Year
Kevin Dansky, Churchill, Sr., Forward
It's been a long time since one player carried a great offense in similar fashion. Absolute lightning with the ball at his feet, he scored a county-high 26 goals in leading the Bulldogs to an undefeated regular season. The county's premier striker notched 41 in his final two years, leading Churchill to two 4A West Region finals.
Coach of the Year
Stephen Pfeil, Magruder, Second year
True, the Colonels played eight games they didn't win, following an undefeated state championship season a year ago. But Pfeil did a masterful job in shaping a team after the graduation of nearly all its star power. The Colonels were the county's only team to reach the state playoffs, a more impressive feat in some ways than last year's.
