Motorcyclist dies in early-morning collision in Derwood
Driver of car was not injured, Montgomery police say
Fourth District police officers responded to the collision in the 5800 block of Muncaster Mill just north of Avery Park Drive at approximately 2:40 a.m., police said.
Police said Paul Garo Mossessian of the 5900 block of Willow Knoll Drive was riding north on Muncaster Mill Road on a red 2008 Ducati motorcycle when he crossed the center line into the southbound lane and collided with a blue 2007 Pontiac G5 sedan. Mossessian died at the scene, police said.
The driver of the Pontiac sedan, 46-year-old Pedro Fernando Garcia Cedano of the 19300 block of Keymar Way in Montgomery Village, was not injured and remained at the scene, police said.
Police are investigating the cause of the collision. No traffic citations have been issued, said Officer Melanie Brenner, a county police spokeswoman.
Detectives from the Collision Reconstruction Unit are asking anyone who witnessed the incident and have not yet spoken to them to call 301-840-2435.
