Montgomery Del. Jane Lawton dies

Lawton, 63, represented District 18 and was the county’s cable administrator

Del. Jane E. Lawton (D-Dist. 18) of Chevy Chase died Thursday morning.

Lawton, 63, collapsed while testifying at a hearing in her job as Montgomery County cable administrator, said Lisa Hershiser, a spokeswoman for the Montgomery County House delegation.

Lawton had represented District 18 in the House of Delegates since Nov. 1, 2005. She was appointed to succeed Del. John Adams Hurson, who resigned to become a lobbyist.
