Monday, Nov. 20, 2006

A Silver Spring man died after a car struck him while crossing the street in Kensington on Friday, police said.

Antonio Parisi, 77, of the 10100 block of Haywood Avenue was attempting to cross University Boulevard West near Lexington Street just before 5:30 p.m., according to a Montgomery County Police release. Investigators said a silver 2002 Toyota Camry driven by Hoang Van Pham, 25, of Silver Spring, was traveling east on University Boulevard West when it struck Parisi, police said.

Parisi was not in a pedestrian crosswalk at the time, police said. Rescue workers transported Parisi to Suburban Hospital in Bethesda where he was pronounced dead from his injuries, police said.

No charges have been filed against Pham, but detectives from the Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit are still investigating the collision and have asked for anyone who witnessed the incident to call them at 301-840-2435.
