Ready for trail to come to backyard
This is in response to the Oct. 29 article, " We just don't want them in our backyards.'" I am one of the Fort Washington property owners on the water and I want the trail.
I knew about the trail and the easement when I bought the property. The trail was an added enticement to me purchasing the property, knowing that all I had to do was walk to the end of my property to get on the trail to enjoy the wonderful water views that should be available to all and not just a privileged few. My builder made me aware of the easement and showed me where it was on the plat. References to the easement were on all of the titling and deed documents when I purchased my property and built my house.
I drive to/from Reagan [National] Airport and envy those Virginians walking, running and riding on the Mount Vernon Trail. Oh, how I long to be able to do that on our side, the Maryland side of the river.
