Jennifer Story Gnau and Christopher Marc Peters were married April 18, 2009 at the historic Parish Church of St. Helena's in Beaufort, S.C. The Rev. Jeffrey Miller officiated. The bride's parents hosted a reception following the ceremony at the Anchorage House.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Michael Gnau of Fripp Island, S.C. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. She was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority and is employed as a senior sales representative with Galderma Laboratories.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Perry Hawley of Walkersville and Clifton Leroy Peters III of San Diego, Calif. He graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and a Master of Business Administration. He was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and Tiger Brotherhood. He is employed as a major gift officer with the Clemson University Foundation.
The matron of honor was the sister of the bride Courtney Gnau Garbade of Beaufort, S.C. Also attending were bridesmaids Kristin Rowan Oakes of Reston, Va.; Lori Patricia Neal and Jenifer Peters Richardson of Anderson, S.C.; Katie Gambell Russell and Meredeth Murr of Charlotte, N.C.; Kelly Carter Smith of Sumter, S.C.; Kristen Byers McLean of Greenville, S.C.; and Anna Truluck Milliken of Columbia, S.C.
The best men were James Roy McNinch Jr. of Charlotte, N.C., and Matthew Patrick Dey and Bryan Taylor Blackwood of Greenville, S.C. The groomsmen were Ali Kerim Sonmez of Atlanta, Ga.; Scott Kenji Kishimoto and Richard Wayne Sigman of Frederick; and William Dean Collar III of Mount Pleasant, S.C. The ushers were Michael Thomas Bostick of Greenville, S.C.; John Christopher Daichendt and Douglas Scott Haugh of Atlanta, Ga.; and Steven Lemont Brown and Joseph Eugene Polce of Frederick.
The groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner on the waterfront in downtown Beaufort.
The newlyweds honeymooned on the Big Island and Maui, Hawaii. They reside in Charlotte, N.C.
