Movies: New on DVD
Here are some of the DVDs scheduled to be released Tuesday:
Angels & Demons: Novelist Dan Brown's first book to feature Robert Langdon was actually the second film, but includes many of the same aspects that made "The Da Vinci Code" so popular. There are religious mysteries, stunning works of art, secret societies, etc. This time around, the story is based at the Vatican and revolves around the possible murder of the pope. The DVD is being released as an extended edition, so it includes scenes not seen in theaters.
NR; 138 minutes; Directed by Ron Howard
Four Christmases: Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn play a couple that has to spend part of Christmas with each of their parents and their new partners, a ritual they usually go out of their way to avoid.
PG-13; 88 minutes; Directed by Seth Gordon
Funny People: Adam Sandler plays a comedian who has been diagnosed with a life-threatening disease. He decides to return to his stand-up roots and ends up hiring a young comedian (Seth Rogan) to help write jokes and act as his personal assistant. This isn't your typical Judd Apatow comedy, and has some serious dramatic moments dealing with death and marriage infidelity.
R; 145 minutes; Directed by Judd Apatow
Shorts: A boy finds a colorful rock that grants whoever is holding it any wish they desire. Now, everyone in Black Falls wants to get their hands on that rock, and chaos ensues. Of course, though, the wishes don't always turn out the way the person making the request had hoped.
PG; 89 minutes; Directed by Robert Rodriguez
