The Virsky Ukrainian National Dance Company will take the stage of Montgomery College's Robert E. Parilla Performing Arts Center, 51 Mannakee St., Rockville, at 8 p.m. Friday. The company, led by artistic director Myroslav Vantukh, performs traditional Ukrainian folk dance in the spirit of founder Pavlo Virsky, who was committed to preserving and developing his culture's folk choreographic art. A 50-foot helium balloon of Stewie dressed as Darth Vader will make its debut in the 12th annual Montgomery County Thanksgiving Parade, which will kick off the holiday season at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Silver Spring. More than 100 parade units floats, clowns on motorcycles, dance troupes, marching bands will start at Sligo and Georgia avenues, proceed north on Georgia and turn right onto Ellsworth Drive. Musical Arts International's fall concert, "Triple Delight," will feature violinist Jonathan Carney (above), the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra's concertmaster, as well as cellist Pei Lu (right) and pianist Li-Ly Chang at 3 p.m. Sunday in Calvary Lutheran Church, 9545 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring. Philippe Entremont will play a dual role in the Washington Performing Arts Society concert at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Music Center at Strathmore, 5301 Tuckerman Lane, North Bethesda. As the Vienna Chamber Orchestra's lifetime honorary conductor, he will lead a program of music by Mozart and Haydn, and as piano soloist, he will play Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor.
