County police reports
The following is a summary of incidents in Bethesda to which Montgomery County police responded recently. The words "arrested" and "charged" do not imply guilt.
Aggravated assault
-On Oct. 29: At approximately 1:45 p.m. at Walter Johnson High School, Old Georgetown Road and Rock Spring Drive in Bethesda. A dispute between two classmates escalated when their parents became involved. The parent threatened another involved parent with a handgun.
-On Nov. 2: In the 5000 block of Nicholson Lane in Rockville. While attending a meeting, the suspect became enraged and assaulted the victim.
Bank robbery
-On Nov. 2: At 11 a.m. at SunTrust Bank, 8510 Connecticut Ave. in Chevy Chase. An armed suspect entered the bank, approached a teller with a handgun and demanded cash. After obtaining cash, the suspect fled into a waiting white Ford Crown Victoria with DC tags driven by a second suspect. Suspect No. 1 was described as a black male, 20-29, 6 feet tall, wearing a white skeleton Halloween mask and gloves, armed with handgun. Suspect No. 2, driver of get-away vehicle, was described as a black male, 20-29, wearing a maroon vest. The suspect vehicle was recovered on Lake Drive in Chevy Chase.
Commercial robbery
-On Nov. 3: At 8:10 p.m. at Halloween Adventures Costume Store, 11848 Rockville Pike in Rockville. Two armed Hispanic male suspects entered the business and ordered everyone to the ground. The suspects demanded money from the register and the lock box and then both fled the store toward East Jefferson Street. Suspect No. 1 was described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a bandana over his face, carrying some sort of firearm. Suspect No. 2 was described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a bandanna over face.
Armed home invasion robbery
-On Nov. 3 at approximately 8:30 p.m. in the 8500 block of 16th Street in Silver Spring. The victim opened the door for a delivery and was accosted by three masked male suspects armed with handguns, who forced their way into the apartment and tied up the residents. Suspects fled after obtaining property. Suspect No. 1 was described as a Hispanic male, 20-29, 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a full face mask, armed with handgun. Suspects No. 2 and 3 were described as Hispanic males, 20-29, with full face masks, armed with handguns. Suspect No. 4 was described as a Hispanic female, 25-26, 5 feet 6 inches tall, with long black hair.
Theft
-On Oct. 26: At approximately 8 a.m. at the Bethesda Metro Station, 1 Metro Square in Bethesda. The 20-year-old male victim was crossing the street coming from the Metro when his cell phone was taken from his rear pocket. The victim noted the crosswalk was very crowded at the time.
-On Oct. 29: at 4 p.m. at the Bethesda Metro Station, 1 Metro Square in Bethesda. The 67-year-old male victim was riding up on the elevator from the Metro Station when his wallet was taken from his pocket.
-On Oct. 28: At the Camalier Building, 10215 Fernwood Road in Bethesda. The elderly male victim entered the elevator which was already occupied by the two suspects. While one suspect stepped on the victim's foot, the other suspect dropped some papers on the ground and otherwise distracted the victim. After exiting the elevator, the victim reported his wallet was missing. Suspect No. 1 was described as a black male, 30, 6 feet to 6 feet 9 inches tall, 170-200 pounds. Suspect No. 2 was described as a black male, 30, 6 feet to 6 feet 9 inches tall, 200-250 pounds.
Vehicle larceny
-10300 block of Westlake Drive in Bethesda, on Oct. 29. Vehicle left unlocked, construction tools, cigarettes taken.
Residential burglary
-3200 block of University Boulevard West in Kensington, on Oct. 29. Forced entry, property taken.
-3400 block at University Boulevard West in Kensington, on Oct. 29. Forced entry, property taken.
-4200 block of Everett Street in Kensington, on Nov. Leaf blower taken from unsecured garage.
-7400 block of Pyle Road in Bethesda on Nov. 2. The suspect entered the victim's vehicle and removed a GPS unit. The suspect used the garage remote control to open the door. The suspect was scared off by the homeowner.
