Friends Meeting School hosts annual auction event

Friends Meeting School will be hosting its annual Dinner Auction beginning at 4:30 p.m., Saturday at the Cracked Claw Restaurant.

‘From Starfish to Stars’program kicks off

The Frederick County Public Schools’ Earth and Science Laboratory will offer a ‘‘From Stars to Starfish” presentation at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Tuesday and Nov. 28, at Lincoln Elementary School ‘‘B” Building, 250 Madison St., Frederick. The musical performance will teach the audience about Jacques Cousteau, starfish and stars, the Hubble Space Telescope, star colors, constellations, and the sun. Tickets are $1 for those under 18 and $2 for adults.

All students in eight-grade and under must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets for both shows are sold starting at 5:30 p.m. and remaining tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show will be sold at 7 p.m. Enter at the back entrance of the building. The show is recommended for all ages. Call 240-236-2694.

Internet Safetypresentation scheduled

The guidance departments of Walkersville High School feeder schools will offer a program for all interested parents about Internet safety.

The program will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, in the Walkersville Middle School Media Center. The program will give information about Instant Messaging, Facebook, Cyberbullying, MySpace and more popular Internet activities.

Cathie Deadrick, Youth Education Outreach coordinator for the Mental Health Association of Frederick County will lead the discussion.

The 45-minute program includes light refreshments provided by the PTSA. Walkersville Middle School is located at 55 Frederick St., Walkersville. For more information, call the school at 240-236-4400.

Visitation Academy holds Christmas bazaar

The Visitation Academy will hold it’s annual Christmas Bazaar from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, at the school.

There will a crafts, a silent auction, a raffle, games, pony rides, a moon bounce, and more.

Admission is free. The school is located at 200 E. Second St., Frederick.
