Richard Montgomery to present The Crucible'
Richard Montgomery High School's Black Maskers Drama Club will present Arthur Miller's "The Crucible," a dramatization of the Salem, Mass., witch trials of 1692, at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, at 2 p.m. Sunday and again at 7 p.m. Nov. 20 and 21.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Seating is limited to 200 people each performance and seats can be reserved by e-mailing richardmontgomerydrama@gmail.com. Include in the e-mail how many tickets should be reserved and specify how many adult and student tickets are needed.
Tickets will be available for pick up right before the performance and can be paid for with cash or check. Any unreserved tickets will be sold at the door.

Magruder spins the tale
of Charlotte's Web'
Col. Zadok Magruder High School's Drama Department will present "Charlotte's Web," a play based on E.B. White's award-winning children's novel of a pig named Wilbur and his friendship with a spider named Charlotte, at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and again at 7 p.m. Nov. 20 and 21.

Pink Panther' strikes
at Rockville High
Rockville High School Theater will present "The Pink Panther Strikes Again," a comedy about the bumbling and incompetent police inspector Jacques Clouseau, at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults and available at the door.
Rockville High School is 2100 Baltimore Road.
Literary Day at Good Counsel
Our Lady of Good Counsel High School will hold its first Olney Literary Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Participants will get the opportunity to meet authors Helen Thomas, Craig Crawford, Chip Bok, Patricia Gates Lynch, Barbara Lee, Stephen E. Fratzich, Margaret Sands Orchowski, Summer Whitford, Lynn Wilford Scarborough, David A. J. Axson, Fred Bowen, Paula L. Tutman, John Baker, Allison Silberberg, Sasha Gong, Jack Torry, Kempton Jenkins, David Breuhan and Danny P. Costello. Their books will be available for purchase.
Topics of the day will include finding a literary agent, putting together a book proposal and more.

Belmont to host silent auction
Belmont Elementary School's PTA will sponsor its 10th annual Basket Galore & Silent Auction fundraiser from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday.
The event will feature raffles and silent auction items from local businesses, restaurants and more. Silent auction items and raffles will close at 8 p.m.
There will also be free entertainment for children, including a DJ. All proceeds from the event will benefit the school.

The Ruth Rales Comcast Kids Reading Network is seeking volunteers to tutor second grade students in reading at public elementary schools throughout Montgomery County.

at Bowie State
U.S. Rep. Donna Edwards (D-Dist. 4) of Fort Totten will hold a college fair and symposium from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Bowie State University.
"Planning for Future Success: Helping Students and Families Understand and Navigate the College Application Process" is designed to help students and parents learn financial aid resources and post-secondary education opportunities.
The event will also feature representatives from colleges and universities, testing centers and career training institutions as well as lessons in writing essays, resumes and applications.

Teen dating conference
"Choose Respect Montgomery," a teenage dating conference for students 12 to 18 years old and their parents, will be held 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday on Montgomery College's Rockville campus.
The event, which is being sponsored by the Domestic Violence Coordinating Council in collaboration with Montgomery College and other county agencies and community organizations, will feature lunch, door prizes and workshops for teens on healthy teen dating behaviors, recognizing abuse, misuse of technology and more.
There will also be workshops for parents, which will be offered in English and Spanish.
