A New troupe in town
American Dance Institute's first resident dance company, ADI Chamber Ballet, will present its premiere performances at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at ADI, 1570 East Jefferson St., Rockville. Washington Ballet's Rui Huang, Jared Nelson and Corey Landolt will dance with the new group in a program that features three ballets by resident choreographer Runqiao Du, an original work by Nelson and the wedding Pas de Deux from "Don Quixote." Michel Legrand (left) virtuoso pianist, composer of more than 200 film scores and winner of multiple Oscar and Grammy awards will perform with singer Mario Pelchat (right) at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Music Center at Strathmore, 5301 Tuckerman Lane, North Bethesda. A quartet of musicians will accompany the duo in a mixture of Legrand's classic movie tunes, Hollywood hits and French "chansons." Tickets range from $27 to $70. Go ga-ga for gifts
The gift shops of 16 area museums including The Kennedy Center, National Museum of Women in the Arts, Shakespeare Theatre and The Textile Museum will bring their wares to the 20th annual Museum Shop Around at Strathmore from Thursday through Sunday at the Mansion at Strathmore, 10701 Rockville Pike North Bethesda. Absurdist dramatist Edward Albee's "The Goat or, Who is Sylvia?" is on the Silver Spring Stage, 10145 Colesville Road, through Nov. 22.
