Companies honored for philanthropy Friday, Nov. 11, 2005 The Maryland Chamber of Commerce and Baltimore Business Journal awarded the Maryland Business Philanthropy Awards during the annual Association of Fundraising Professionals - Maryland Chapter Philanthropy Day Luncheon held Tuesday at the Marriott Waterfront in Baltimore.
This year’s honorees are:
Small employer — P.W. Feats Inc. is an event planning company in Baltimore that in the past year has contributed to 25 pro-bono activities that include the Municipal Arts Society, the Baltimore City Schools’ Science of Appreciation and others.
Medium employer — Brown Advisory: The Baltimore-based investment and brokerage advisory works with William Paca School in Patterson Park in Baltimore, where employees provide tutoring and raise funds.
Large employer— T. Rowe Price: The Baltimore-based investment management firm’s foundation has contributed more than $6.8 million to non-profit organizations over the past two years. The company also strongly promotes volunteerism, with nearly 2,800 associates logging 21,000 volunteer hours over the past two years.
Also honored at the luncheon by the AFP was The Reginald F. Lewis Foundation Inc. of Baltimore as the 2005 Outstanding Foundation.
