County police reports
The following is a summary of incidents in the 1st District (Rockville) and 4th District (Wheaton-Glenmont) to which the Montgomery County Police responded recently. The words "arrested" and "charged" do not imply guilt.
1st District
Graffiti vandalism
-Between 11 p.m. Oct. 18 and 1:51 p.m. Oct. 19, in the parking lot of the Orange Ball Billiards, 430 Hungerford Drive in Rockville. Swastikas and obscenities were spray painted on a vehicle.
Armed robbery
-On Oct. 16 at 7:35 p.m. in the area of Edgebrook and Selfridge roads in Wheaton. A woman was walking when she was robbed by four males, one of whom was armed with a gun. The robbers fled the scene in a small red four-door vehicle and on foot.
-On Oct. 18 at 11:21 p.m., in the 200 block of Park Road in Rockville. A person was sitting in his vehicle at the dead end of the street when a man opened the vehicle door and displayed a knife. He demanded property, but when the victim said he had nothing, the robbers walked off. One robber is described as a black male, 20-30, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall, 150-180 pounds, unshaven, corn-rowed hair, wearing a grey puffy jacket and blue jeans. The second is described as black male, 22-30, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall, 240-160 pounds, wearing a multi-colored sweater with horizontal stripes and tan pants.
Strong-arm robbery
-On Oct. 12 at 11:45 p.m., in the area of Lewis and Halpine avenues in Rockville. A man was walking when he was robbed by two men. No weapons were seen and personal property was taken. The robbers fled on foot. One is described as 27-28, 165-175 pounds, wearing a black T-shirt as a bandana and a grey hooded sweatshirt. The other is described as 22-23, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, 160-170 pounds, wearing a black T-shirt as a bandana, black hooded sweatshirt over a grey hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
Theft
-Between 7 p.m. Oct. 15 and 10 a.m. Oct. 16, construction site at Andrew Romanian Orthodox Church, 9111 River Road in Potomac. Forced entry; property taken.
Vehicle theft
-Shady Grove Metro parking facility in Rockville, between 7:10 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. Oct. 15. A 2006 blue, four-door Nissan Sentra was stolen.
Vehicle larceny
-13200 block of Twinbrook Parkway in Rockville, at 2:32 a.m. Oct. 14. A person heard his vehicle alarm go off and saw two people standing at the rear of his vehicle. They were last seen going towards Twinbrook Parkway. Forced entry; property taken.
-13200 block of Twinbrook Parkway in Rockville, at 9:04 a. m. Oct. 16. Unknown entry; unknown what, if any, property taken.
-400 block of Anderson Avenue in Rockville, between 10 p.m. Oct. 12 and 7 a.m. Oct. 13. Parts taken from a 1996 Acura Integra.
-600 block of Hungerford Drive in Rockville, between 9:20 and 10:04 a.m. Oct. 19. Tailgate taken from a 2004 Ford pickup truck.
-500 block of Hungerford Drive in Rockville, between 11 p.m. Oct. 14 and 6 a.m. Oct. 15. Forced entry; property taken.
-7400 block of Westmore Road in Rockville, between 10:30 p.m. Oct. 14 and 8:30 a.m. Oct. 15. Forced entry; property taken.
-600 block of Ivy league Lane in Rockville, between 11 p.m. Oct. 15 and 8:20 a.m. Oct. 16. Forced entry; property taken.
-600 block of Great Falls Road in Rockville, between 12:05 and 2:15 p.m. Oct. 18. Forced entry; property taken.
-7200 block of Muncaster Mill Road, 15900 block of Somerville Drive, 16100 block of Crabbs Branch Way, 900 block of Gaither Road, 15900 block of Somerville Drive, 100 block of Watkins Pond Blvd., 400 block of Robena Way, 100 block of King Farm Boulevard, 100 block of Elmcroft Square, 1900 block of Piccard Drive, 900 block of Elmcroft Boulevard and 100 block of Pasture Side Place in Rockville, at undetermined times on Oct. 15. In most instances entry was forced and property was taken.
-Shady Grove Metro parking lots and garages in Rockville, between 6:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., five occurred on Oct. 12 and four on Oct. 15.
-1600 block of East Jefferson Street, 200 block of Congressional Lane and 300 block of Congressional Lane in Rockville, between Oct. 12 and 20. Four occurred overnight between Oct. 12 and 13 and three occurred overnight between Oct. 16 and 17. Forced entry in all but one incident; property taken.
Burglary
-Twinbrook Elementary School, 5911 Ridgeway Ave. in Rockville, between 5:30 and 6:19 p.m. Oct. 16. Forced entry; property taken.
Residential burglary
-5200 block of Crossfield Court in Rockville, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Oct. 13. Unknown entry; nothing taken.
-900 block of Grandin Avenue in Rockville, between 1:05 and 1:20 a.m. Oct. 18. No forced entry; property damaged but not taken. A 32-year-old female, of no fixed address, was arrested at the scene.
-2000 block of MacDowell Street in Rockville, between Oct. 14 and 19. Forced entry; property taken.
-300 block of Howard Avenue in Rockville, on Oct. 19. Forced entry; unknown if property taken.
-14100 block of Stonecutter Drive in North Potomac, between 4:30 and 10:30 a.m. Oct. 15. Forced entry; nothing taken.
4th District
Armed robbery
-On Oct. 12 at 12:40 p.m., in the 700 block of Cloverly Street in Colesville. Two men were accosted by two men displaying handguns. Property and cash forcibly taken. The robbers fled toward New Hampshire Avenue.
-On Oct. 15 at 8 p.m., at the dead-end of Bucknell Drive in Wheaton. The victim was accosted, injured and robbed by three men who took property and cash and ran up Amherst Avenue. Three 18- to 20-year-old males were later identified and arrested.
Armed robbery/assault
-On Oct. 19 at 12:50 a.m., in a parking lot in the 3700 block of Bel Pre Road in Aspen Hill. Two victims were accosted by two men who took property from both and fled in a newer-model dark-blue sports-type vehicle driven by a third man.
Strong-arm robbery
-On Oct. 12 at 2:30 p.m., in the 10900 block of Breewood Road in Kemp Mill. A juvenile male was attacked by a man who took property and fled with others in a new dark- colored Nissan Sentra.
Commercial burglary
-Sunoco Station, 14031 Georgia Ave. in Wheaton, between 1:35 and 4:40 a.m. Oct. 14. Forced entry; property taken.
Residential burglary
-Unit block of Shadowridge Court in Olney, between 12:01 a.m. and 1:59 p.m. Oct. 12. No forced entry; property taken.
-18600 block of Shady View Lane in Brookeville, between 9:30 and 10 a.m. Oct. 13. Forced entry; property taken.
-13900 block of Valleyfield Drive in Aspen Hill, between 1 and 4 p.m. Oct. 14. No sign of forced entry; property taken.
-3200 block of Hewitt Avenue in Aspen Hill, at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 13. May be domestic related.
-3400 block of Fredale Street in Wheaton, between 6 and 6:45 p.m. Oct. 17. No sign of forced entry; house ransacked, property taken.
-12200 block of Bluhill Road in Wheaton, between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Oct. 14. No forced entry; property taken.
-12100 block of Grandview Avenue in Wheaton, at 1 a.m. Oct. 15. The victims, who were home during the incident, alerted the police and a 30-year-old male suspect was arrested.
