County police reports
The following is a summary of incidents in Bethesda to which Montgomery County police responded recently. The words "arrested" and "charged" do not imply guilt.
Aggravated assault
-On Oct. 14: At approximately 5 p.m. at Blue Mercury, 7105 Bethesda Ave. in Bethesda. Police responded to a call about a suspect creating a disturbance. A 54-year-old male from Silver Spring was arrested at the scene.
Vehicle larceny
-3300 block of Winnett Road, 3400 block of Thornapple Street, 7200 block of Brennon Lane, 3200 block of Leland Street, 2800 block of Abilene Drive, 1700 block of East-West Highway, 2200-2400 blocks of Colston Drive, and the 3200 block Pickwick Lane, overnight between Oct. 12 and Oct. 15. Forced entry in some instances, not in others. Property taken in most instances.
-9600 block of Dewmar Lane in Kensington, overnight between Oct. 12 and Oct. 13. Forced entry, property taken.
-3700 block of Dupont Avenue in Kensington, overnight between Oct. 13 and Oct. 14. Forced entry, property taken.
-3300 block of University Boulevard West in Kensington, overnight between Oct. 13 and Oct. 14, Forced entry to two vehicles, property taken.
-4000 block of Adams Court in Kensington, overnight between Oct. 15 and Oct. 16. Forced entry, property taken.
-11100 block of Woodson Avenue in Kensington, overnight between Oct. 12 and Oct. 13. Forced entry, property taken.
-Residential driveways in the 11200 block of Buckwood Lane and 11100-1200 blocks of Whisperwood Lane in North Bethesda. Several occurred overnight between Oct. 12 and Oct. 13 and the others overnight between Oct. 18 and Oct. 19. Unknown entry, nothing taken.
-5000 block of Cloister Drive, 5900 block of Kingswood Road and the 10100 and 10300 blocks of Grosvenor Lane in North Bethesda, overnight between Oct. 12 and Oct. 16. Unknown entry, property taken.
Commercial burglary
-Sweetgreen Restaurant, 4831 Bethesda Ave. in Bethesda, overnight between Oct. 12 and Oct. 13. No sign of forced entry, property reported missing.
-Midas Muffler, 4725 Cheltenham Drive in Bethesda, overnight between Oct. 14 and Oct. 15. Forced entry, property taken.
Residential burglary
-3000 block of Winnett Road in Bethesda, at approximately 4 a.m. on Oct. 14. Attempted entry, none gained and nothing taken. Suspects fled prior to police arriving. The victim observed the suspect fleeing the scene on a bicycle. The suspect was described as male, race unknown, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall, 175-200 pounds, gray hooded top.
-2800 block of Abilene Drive in Bethesda, between Oct. 12 and Oct. 13. Entry through garage, property reported taken.
-7100 block of Woodmont Avenue in Bethesda, during the day on Oct. 13. No sign of forced entry, property reported missing.
-4700 block of Bethesda Avenue in Bethesda, between 7:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Oct. 16. Entry gained, property taken from apartment. The suspect was described as a black male, wearing glasses and carrying a backpack.
-4700 block of Dover Road in Bethesda, overnight between Oct. 16 and Oct. 17. Forced entry, property taken.
-7200 block of Orkney Parkway in Bethesda at 3:15 p.m. on Oct. 19. The victim heard someone trying to break in. The victim fled from the house and notified police. Neighbors observed the suspects flee from the scene. Suspect No. 1 was described as black male, 6 feet 1 inch tall, 240 pounds, with a goatee. Suspect No. 2 was described as black male, 6 feet 1 inch tall, 240 pounds, wearing a skull cap, gloves. The suspect vehicle was described as a gray KIA with Maryland tags.
-4800 block of Chevy Chase Drive in Chevy Chase, overnight between Oct. 17 and Oct. 18. No forced entry, property taken.
-5900 block of Wilson Lane in Bethesda, at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 19. Police responded to a call for a burglary in progress and found the defendant attempting to leave the scene with stolen property inside her vehicle. A 45-year-old female from Potomac was arrested.
-11900 block of Old Gate Place in Bethesda, between 2:50 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 12. No forced entry, property taken.
-6000 block of Tuckerman Lane in Bethesda, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Oct. 14. Forced entry, property taken.
-6100 block of Wayside Drive in Bethesda, between 10 p.m. and midnight on Oct. 16. Domestic-related. The suspect was described as a 20-year-old male from Bethesda.
