Voters send McClement to mayor's office
Three incumbent aldermen rejected
Frederick voters have sent a local bagel shop owner to the mayor's office, and reset the lineup for the Board of Aldermen to include five new faces, ousting all three incumbents who were up for re-election Tuesday.
With all of the city's 12 precincts reporting as of 10 p.m., Republican Randy McClement beat Democrat Jason Judd 3495 votes to 3283.
The tally for the Board of Aldermen broke down as follows: Karen Lewis Young (D), 3577; Michael O'Connor (D), 3393; Shelley Aloi (R), 3314; Carol Krimm (D), 3254; and Kelly Russell (D), 3240.
The incumbent aldermen created the middle of the pack: C. Paul Smith (R) 3219; Donna Kuzemchak (D), 3079 and Alan Imhoff (R), 3030.
Bringing up the rear are Amanda Haddaway (R), 2676 and Chris Huckenpoehler (R), 2160.
The city has 30,655 registered voters, but voter turnout was not immediately available.
The city has more than 400 absentee ballots to count on Thursday.
