DEALS
CPV Renewable Energy of Silver Spring executed a 20-year power-purchase agreement with the Tennessee Valley Authority for 200 megawatts from its Ashley wind energy project in McIntosh County, N.D.
SpotCrime of Baltimore was selected by Hubbard Broadcasting to provide local crime mapping data to its KSTP-TV in Minneapolis.
Quality Associates of Fulton was selected by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to process H1N1 flu vaccine consent forms.
Cecil Bank and K Bank terminated their previous agreement to sell K Bank's Bel Air branch office to Cecil Bank, "in light of current economic circumstances."
Lockheed Martin in Rockville won a seven-year, $145 million contract from the Environmental Protection Agency to support its Environmental Response Team with technical and analytical expertise during environmental emergencies in the U.S. and U.S. territories. Lockheed Martin also won $170 million in new information technology contracts from the Department of Health and Human Services.
ScanSafe of San Francisco, a portfolio company of Montagu Newhall Associates of Owings Mills, agreed to be acquired by Cisco Systems of San Jose, Calif., for $183 million.
Hughes Network Systems of Germantown won a $24 million contract to provide Avanti Communications Group of the U.K. with broadband satellite services. Hughes also was selected to provide Barrett Xplore of Canada with more than 10 Gbps of capacity on Jupiter, a next-generation, high-throughput satellite from Hughes; the deal is valued at more than $100 million.
