Ruby L. Sheckler, 89, of Frederick, died Oct. 12, 2009 at the Homewood at Crumland Farms. She was the widow of the late Bruce W. Sheckler Sr. who passed away in 1979.

Born July 2, 1920, in Boggs Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth Custer Davidson.

Mrs. Sheckler, along with her late husband, were long time residents of the College Park area. After her husband's passing and her retirement, she moved to the Frederick area where she would spend the remainder of her life living close to her extended family and friends.

Mrs. Sheckler is survived by her son Bruce W. Sheckler Jr. and wife Elsie of Frederick, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, one brother, two sisters and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

Funeral Services will were held Oct. 15 at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, Frederick. The Rev. Deborah Huffman, Chaplin of Homewood at Crumland Farms officiated. Interment was in Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood.
