County police reports
The following is a summary of incidents in Bethesda to which Montgomery County police responded recently. The words "arrested" and "charged" do not imply guilt.
Aggravated assault
- On Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m., in the 6800 block of Milwood Road in Bethesda. The victim had driven his vehicle into the garage when an unknown suspect, wearing dark clothing and a mask, approached and shot him as he sat inside the vehicle. A small dark vehicle driving without its lights on may have been seen driving away from the area shortly after the assault.
Indecent exposure
- On Oct. 6 at 4 p.m., in the area of Democracy Boulevard and Bells Mill Road in Bethesda. The victim was walking home near Walter Johnson High School when the suspect approached in a white work-style van with tinted windows and asked for directions. The victim approached and saw the suspect had unzipped his pants and exposed himself. The suspect was described as a black male, 25-35, 6 feet to 6 feet 3 inches tall, 190-210 pounds.
Vehicle larceny
- 2500 block of Ross Road in Silver Spring, between 10 p.m. Oct. 8 and 8:45 a.m. Oct. 9. Broke window, coins taken.
- 2400 block of Lyttonsville Road in Silver Spring, between 7 p.m. Oct. 11 and 9:30 a.m. Oct. 12. Broke window, driver's side airbag taken.
- 10100 block of Grosvenor Place in Bethesda, between 7:30 p.m. Oct. 7 and 5 a.m. Oct. 8. Broke window, two front airbags taken.
- 11300 block of Rockville Pike in Rockville, between 12:45 p.m. and 2 p.m. Oct. 9. Suspects reached into an open window, purse containing a blackberry, cash, credit cards taken.
- 11200 block of Edison Park Place in Rockville, between 11:30 p.m. Oct. 7 and 8 a.m. Oct. 8. Broke window, GPS taken.
Residential burglary
- 8200 block of Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda, at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 6. Suspect entered the residence but fled when confronted by the victim. Nothing taken. The suspect was described as a black male, 35-40, 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, 170-180 pounds.
- 7600 block of Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda, between 1 a.m. and 5 p.m. Oct. 7. Entry gained, property taken.
- 3300 block of Wake Drive in Kensington, at 11 a.m. Oct. 5. The suspect entered the residence and was confronted by the owner. Suspect fled, nothing taken. The suspect was described as a black male, 30-50, 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, 200-250 pounds.
