Man robbed, stabbed near Wheaton Metro station
Assailants fled the area before police arrived
A man was stabbed multiple times near the Wheaton Metro station Thursday evening after several young men tried to rob him, said Montgomery County Police spokesman Gill Lee.
The man was robbed outside the Metro station just before 8 p.m. Thursday by several people who then stabbed him in the back, arm and stomach, Lee said. The man ran into the Metro station, 11171 Georgia Ave., to seek help. The robbers fled the area before police arrived, according to a police press release.
The man was transported to an area hospital for his injuries and was released, Lee said.
