Christine C. and Warrick S. Hill renewed their 50th wedding vows in the presence of nearly 300 relatives and friends on Aug. 19 at Emmanuel Seventh-day Adventist Church, Brinklow.

A reception buffet followed at the Sandy Spring Oak Room. A pictorial slide presentation of the couple’s life through their 50 years of marriage, created by their son David Hill, was shown.

Mrs. Hill, a homemaker, has worked for the past 20 years as a medical office assistant and receptionist. Mr. Hill was an instructor of non-military subjects and an administrative assistant for two years during the Korean War. He taught secondary school mathematics for 38 years — 11 in Calvert County and 27 in Montgomery County — nine of which he served as a teacher-department chair and three as a teacher-assistant principal in Calvert County. Recently, the retired teacher wrote the book ‘‘Before Us Lies the Timber.”

The couple has three sons, six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
