Aggravated assault
- On Sept. 13 at 12:39 a.m. at St. Camillus Church, 1600 St. Camillus Drive in Silver Spring. Several suspects chased the victim with machetes before fleeing in three Hondas.
Aggravated assault/residential burglary
- On Sept. 7 at 9:10 p.m. in the 3100 block of Fairland Road in Silver Spring Forced entry by a family member. A 30-year-old man from Silver Spring struck several victims with a hammer. He was arrested at the scene.
Carjacking/robbery
- On Sept. 8 at 6:05 p.m. in the unit block of Sheffield Manor Court in Silver Spring. A man opened the victim's vehicle door and threatened to assault the victim's juvenile child, who was also inside the vehicle. The man ordered the victim and the child to get out and then fled in the vehicle. The suspect was described as a black man, 20-25, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 130-140, white tank top, jeans. The stolen vehicle was described as a 2003 silver Mercedes.
Robbery
- On Sept. 11 at 1 a.m. in the 8600 block of 16th Street in Silver Spring. A man was pushed to the ground from behind as he walked along the street. Personal property taken. All suspects fled on foot towards Spring Street. One suspect was described as a black male, 15-18, 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall, 160-180 pounds wearing a dark shirt and jeans. No description on two additional suspects.
- On Sept. 12 at 1 a.m. in the parking lot of the Giant, 8750 Arliss St. in Silver Spring. A man was walking through the lot when a vehicle approached and the suspects exited. One suspect hit the victim with the handle of a machete and demanded his wallet. Even though the victim complied, the suspect cut him with the machete and another suspect pointed a gun at him. The suspects were described as four Hispanic males; two suspects wore black T-shirts. The suspect vehicle was described as a dark colored Toyota.
- On Sept. 12 at 8:40 p.m. in the 8500 block of Garland Avenue in Silver Spring. A man was talking on the phone when the suspects approached. One suspect displayed a gun and demanded the victim's personal property. The victim complied. The others acted as lookouts. The suspects were described as black male, 15-20, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, 130-150 pounds, dreads/twists, a black male, 15-20, wearing a black polo shirt, and three additional black males, 15-20.
Commercial robbery
- On Sept. 11 at 9:55 a.m. at the Game Stop, 12058 Cherry Hill Road in Silver Spring. The suspect entered and asked about a particular game. He then displayed a gun and demanded cash. He obtained money and fled. The suspect was described as a black male, 25-30, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet 1 inch tall, 160-180 pounds, stubble, white baseball hat.
Home invasion/robbery
- On Sept. 14 at 3:30 p.m. in the 14800 block of Strawberry Lane in Burtonsville. The adult male victim was visiting with three of the suspects. Another suspect showed up uninvited. He displayed a gun and demanded cash. Personal property was obtained and all the suspects fled in a vehicle. The suspects were located and arrested. A 20-year-old male from Beltsville, an 18-year-old male from Silver Spring, a 20-year-old male from White Oak and a 20-year-old male from Laurel were arrested.
Attempted vehicle theft
- 900 block of Wayne Avenue, between Sept. 10 and Sept. 11. 2010 Lexus had both windows tampered with. No entry gained.

Aggravated assault
- On Sept. 8 in the 12400 block of Veirs Mill Road in Silver Spring. Domestic-related. A 28-year-old male from Rockville was arrested.
- On Sept. 11 at 2:40 a.m. in the parking garage at 2715 University Boulevard in Silver Spring. The suspects approached the victim. One suspect pointed a gun at the victim and pulled the trigger twice. It did not fire. The suspect then hit the victim with the gun. The other suspects also struck the victim with unknown weapons. The suspects were described as Hispanic male, 30's, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 200 pounds and several other Hispanic males.
Strong-arm robbery
- On Sept. 13 at 2:40 a.m. in the 4100 block of Peppertree Lane in Silver Spring. The suspects approached the victim. One suspect punched the victim and took personal property. The suspects were described as two black males, 20-30, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 pounds, wearing all dark clothing.
