Alumnus to lead film discussion at Walter Johnson

A special showing of the 2004 documentary film ‘‘Paperclips” will be held in the Walter Johnson High School auditorium at 7 p.m. on Thursday. The movie’s co-director⁄ producer, Eliot Berlin, a 1971 W.J. graduate, will lead a question-and-answer session after the film. This is a community event for all W.J. students, staff, parents, families and friends. Admission is free.
Walter Johnson is located at 6400 Rock Spring Drive in Bethesda.
B-CC tour for parents
Parents of prospective students are invited to tour Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School. The tour starts at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday and will begin in the school’s front lobby. The school is located at 4301 East-West Highway. Please call 240-497-6300 to RSVP.
Community invited to B-CC homecoming night
Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School Boosters invited the community to B-CC Homecoming and Cluster Night 2005 on Friday, when the B-CC Varsity Football plays the Wheaton Knights.
The parade starts at 5:30 p.m. and the game kicks off at 6:30 p.m. at B-CC Stadium, 4301 East-West Highway Bethesda.
Admission is free for all students in the B-CC cluster and $5 for adults.

Used book sale
Bethesda Elementary School’s PTA Used Book Sale will be held at the school from 8:15 to 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 10. All are invited to come enjoy coffee and breakfast treats and shop for some great book bargains. The school is located at 7600 Arlington Road, Bethesda.
Please start setting aside books for donation, as well as DVDs, VHS tapes and music CDs. This is a great time to make room on your children’s shelves for their new books. The PTA needs kids’ books for all ages and books for grown-ups, as well.

College fair at Einstein
Albert Einstein High School’s PTSA will host the seventh annual College Fair from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 10. Students will have the opportunity to browse along AEHS’ Main Street and speak one-on-one with representatives from more than 90 colleges and universities from across the country.
Students can learn about majors and fields of study, faculty and staff, extracurricular activities, and financial aid packages. Einstein is located at 11135 Newport Mill Road in Kensington.
Washington Episcopal School Open House
Parents of prospective Washington Episcopal School students are invited to an open house at 9 a.m. on Oct. 18. Washington Episcopal School is located at 5600 Little Falls Parkway in Bethesda.
The Admission Open House session includes a panel presentation of the Washington Episcopal School program, a brief discussion of admission procedures, and a tour of the facilities.

Run to benefitSomerset Elementary
Time to start training for the 18th annual Back-to-School Classic to benefit Somerset Elementary School.
The 8K, 2K and Kids Fun Runs take place at 8 a.m. Oct. 9 starting at Somerset Town Hall, 4510 Cumberland Ave., Chevy Chase.
Registration costs $20 for adults, $15 for the 8K for kids under 18 and the Fun Run is free to children.
The course crosses Somerset, Chevy Chase and Friendship Heights neighborhoods.
All participants get brunch after the race and prizes will be awarded for top finishers.
Proceeds from the race help Somerset Elementary School provide scholarships for after-school programs, build its library collections and classroom resources and offer a rich cultural arts program. The classic is the school’s largest fundraiser.
