Miss Railroad Days candidates sought

Brunswick is searching for the next Miss Railroad Days to preside over the city’s annual celebration.

Young women, ages 15 to 21, who live in Brunswick may apply.

Applications are available at Brunswick High School at 101 Cummings Drive and Brunswick City Hall at 1 W. Potomac Street. Applications must be received by Sept. 25.

Contestants will be judged Sept. 26 on community involvement and scholastic activities. They must complete an interview and write essay.

Miss Railroad Days will be crowned during Railroad Days opening ceremonies Oct. 1.

The winner will receive a $500 scholarship. The runner-up will receive a $100 gift certificate. Each contestant will receive a gift bag full of prizes.

All participants must be present at the judging and crowning to be eligible to win the title.
