Prince George’s County police are looking for a man they believe committed several armed robberies at Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers in Riverdale, Lanham, Beltsville and Takoma Park over the last two months.
In each incident, the man approached employees as they were leaving the restaurant to deposit bank funds, police said. The man demanded and received cash, then fled. No one was injured in any of the robberies, police said.
The robberies happened at the following times and dates: 9:30 a.m. Aug. 6, 9401 Annapolis Road in Lanham; 9:25 a.m. Aug. 24, 6410 Sargent Road in Riverdale; 9:50 a.m. Sept. 8, 6823 New Hampshire Ave. in Takoma Park; and 10634 Baltimore Blvd. in Beltsville.
Police describe the suspect as black, about 20 years old, 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing between 165 and 180 pounds and having a medium complexion, short hair and a neatly trimmed beard.
The man fled in a silver or gray box-style Jeep Cherokee with a Maryland partial tag containing ‘‘325M.”
Details on his weapon were not available. The investigating officer who wrote a press release may not have said because he didn’t want to hinder the investigation, said Cpl. Kim Brown, a police spokeswoman.
