Mott, Crockett picked for 2008 awards
Montgomery County chamber to honor winners Nov. 11
Former MedImmune CEO David Mott heads the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce's list of prestigious 2008 Business Awards winners, announced Wednesday by the chamber.
Mott, who headed the Gaithersburg biotech until its purchase by AstraZeneca in 2007, was named 2008 Business Leader of the Year. Sterling Crockett, CEO of Sterling Construction Services, which has Rockville and Baltimore offices, was named Small Business Leader of the Year.
Qiagen Sciences of Germantown is the winner of the Corporate Achievement Award; accounting firm Lanigan, Ryan, Malcolm & Doyle of Gaithersburg won the Corporate Social Responsibility award; The Tower Cos., Rockville real estate company, won the Spirit of Free Enterprise Award; and William Peel Sr. was named Emeritus Business Leader.
The award winners will be honored at the chamber's 2008 Business Awards dinner Nov. 11.
