BioElectronics names professor to board
BioElectronics of Frederick has named Stacy Wood a director, company officials said in a statement.
Wood is the Langdon Distinguished Professor of Marketing at North Carolina State University's College of Management and previously served on the faculty at the University of South Carolina, where she founded the school's Center for Neuroeconomic Research.
Rib City opens
Frederick location
Rib City has opened its first franchise location in Maryland, at 5227 Presidents Court, Frederick, according to a company statement.
The Fort Myers, Fla., company has 12 corporate restaurants in Florida and 16 franchise locations in 10 states. A company official did not immediately respond to an e-mail seeking more information.
Frederick women's club seeking lawyers
The Frederick Business & Professional Women's Club is seeking female lawyers to speak at the group's dinner from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Homewood at Crumland Farms, 7407 Willow Road, Frederick. The deadline for speakers to sign up is Sept. 17. Information: abhouck@verizon.net.
Arts Council to host creative industries forum
The Frederick Arts Council will host a forum on the county's creative industries at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Cultural Arts Center, 15 N. Market St., Frederick.
