Center City
Aug. 21
12:28 a.m., DUI/DWI arrest. Kenilworth Avenue at Route 495. Christopher James Sylvester, 32, of the 9200 block of Oregold Court in Laurel was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while intoxicated, among other charges after an accident. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.
Aug. 22
2:32 p.m., Vandalism. 200 block of Lakeside Drive. A glass door was broken.
Drug violations/arrests
Aug. 24
12:12 a.m., Drug arrest. 100 block of Centerway. Zachary Richard Watson, 18, of the 7700 block of Hanover Parkway and John Daniel Flanagan, 21, of Southway, were arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Both suspects were released on a citation pending trial.
Empirian Village/Beltway Plaza/Greenbelt Metro/Capitol Office Park
Aug. 22
11 a.m., Trespassing arrest. 6100 block of Breezewood Drive. Safia Duvelcin, 19, of the 3400 block of Metzerott Road in College Park was arrested and charged with trespassing on private property. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.
Burglaries
Aug. 19
3:55 p.m., Burglary. 5900 block of Cherrywood Terrace. Nothing was taken.
Aug. 20
1:07 p.m., Burglary. 9100 block of Edmonston Terrace. Cash was taken.
Aug. 22
1:18 p.m., Burglary. 5800 block of Cherrywood Lane. A television, computer, laptop and jewelry were taken.
Aug. 23
6:42 p.m., Burglary. 6200 block of Springhill Court. Watches and a purse were taken.
Greenbelt East
Aug. 25
8:59 a.m., Attempt murder. 7700 block of Cloister Place. Two suspects entered the victim's home and shot him in the arm. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries. The suspects are described as black males, 5'10", stocky build, with one wearing a black T-shirt and black skull cap, and the other wearing blue and black coveralls. Anyone with information regarding this incident is requested to contact the Criminal Investigations Unit at 240-542-2133.
Drug violations/arrests
Aug. 25
11:50 a.m., Drug arrest. 7700 block of Hanover Parkway. Raynard Antony Minor, 24, of the 7800 block of Mandan Road was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before the District Court Commissioner.
Automotive crime, recovered stolen vehicles, vandalisms to, thefts from and attempt thefts from vehicles were reported in the following areas: (stolen vehicle entries include description).
Aug. 20
Theft from auto. 6500 block of Capitol Drive. A spare tire was taken.
Vandalism. 6600 block of Lake Park Drive. A car was kicked and damaged.
Aug. 21
Theft from auto. Breezewood Drive at Edmonston Road. A temporary tag was taken.
Aug. 22
Recovered stolen vehicle. 7600 block of Hanover Parkway. A gold 2004 Nissan Armada with Virginia tags, reported stolen through Prince William County Police, Virginia, was recovered. No arrests were made.
Attempt theft from auto. Jacobs Drive at Frankfort Place.
Aug. 23
Vandalism. 20 block of Ridge Road. A vehicle was scratched.
Vandalism. 9300 block of Edmonston Road. A vehicle was scratched.
Vandalism. 5800 block of Cherrywood Terrace. Tires were cut.
Vandalism. 6000 block of Breezewood Drive. A car window was broken.

Theft from auto. 6100 block of Springhill Terrace. A spare tire was taken.
Aug. 25
Theft from auto. 5800 block of Cherrywood Lane. A DVD system was taken.
Theft from auto. 9100 block of Edmonston Court. A GPS unit and sound system were taken.
Theft from auto. 6500 block of Capitol Drive. Several DVD/navigation units were taken.
