The following is a summary of incidents in Gaithersburg and the upcounty to which the Montgomery County Police and/or Gaithersburg Police responded recently. The words "arrested" and "charged" do not imply guilt.

Armed robbery

- Aug. 12, midnight at the Giant Food, 842 Muddy Branch Road, Gaithersburg. Two men, wearing black leather jackets and motorcycle helmets, brought items to the check-out line. When the last item was scanned, one man displayed a handgun and demanded cash. They obtained cash and fled.

Aggravated assault

- Aug. 13, 1:18 a.m. at 9817 Bethesda Church Road, Germantown. A person was stabbed. No description was provided.

Strong-arm robbery

- Aug. 12, 6 a.m. at Quince Orchard Road and Raven Rock Drive, Gaithersburg. A man was walking to the Shell Station when three men attacked him, struck him with fists and threw rocks at him while he was on the ground. Nothing was taken. All three attackers were described as black men. One was 20 years old, 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, wearing a black baseball cap. The other two were 18-20 years old; one wore a grey baseball cap and grey sweatpants. The other had crewcut black hair.

Residential burglary

- 19100 block of Partridge Wood Drive, Germantown, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Aug. 12. Forced entry; property taken.

- 19900 block of Sweetgum Circle, Germantown, Aug. 13. No forced entry; nothing taken. A 37-year-old Germantown woman was arrest nearby.

- 12500 block of Coral Grove Place, Germantown, between Aug. 13 and Aug. 14. Unknown entry; property taken.

- 17000 block of King James Way, Gaithersburg, 1:15 a.m. Aug. 14. A neighbor saw three teenage boys and one man exit with a teenage girl. No forced entry; unknown if property was taken.

- 9900 block of Shrewsbury Court, Montgomery Village, between Aug. 14 and Aug. 15. No forced entry; property taken. A detached garage was entered without force and the vehicle inside was searched. A GPS unit, drill, saw, and loose change taken.

Vehicle larceny

- 11200 block of Valley Bend Drive, Germantown, overnight between Aug. 12 and Aug. 13. Door pried open; GPS, baseball bat taken.

- Appledowre Court, Germantown, overnight between Aug. 12 and Aug. 13. Vehicle left unlocked; clothing taken.

- Applegrath Court, Germantown, Aug. 15. Window broken; property taken.
