Teen falls through skylight at Greenbelt fire station
Non-life-threatening injuries sustained while cleaning debris from the roof
A teenager using a leaf blower to remove debris from the roof of the Greenbelt fire/EMS station was injured Friday after he fell through a skylight, dropping 15 feet, fire officials said.
The male, believed to be about 18 years old, was removing the debris from the roof as part of a community service project when he fell through the skylight around 3 p.m., said Mark Brady, a spokesman for the Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department.
The teen was treated by firefighters and medics at the Greenbelt station then transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries for evaluation and treatment, Brady said.
Additional information about the teen was not available.
The Greenbelt Police Department and the county's fire/EMS department are investigating how the teen fell through the roof, Brady said.
A Greenbelt Police Department spokesperson could not be reached Saturday.
