County police reports
The following is a summary of incidents in Rockville to which the Montgomery County Police responded recently. The words "arrested" and "charged" do not imply guilt.
Aggravated assault
- On July 29 at 3:20 a.m. In the 11500 block of Monongahela Court in North Bethesda. The assault occurred at the victim's home. The suspect displayed a knife and demanded money. The suspect fled the residence without obtaining anything. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 41, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 200 pounds.
- On July 28 at 11:06 p.m.in the 5500 block of Alderbrook Court in Rockville. The suspects, relatives of the victims, attacked a female and male with a knife and a bottle. Two brothers, 26 and 31, from Rockville were arrested on the scene.
- On July 27 between 4:10 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. in the 15000 block of Southlawn Lane in Rockville. The victim is a cab driver who had picked up the suspect at Shady Grove Metro. The suspect was unable to pay his fare, displayed a knife, and fled. The suspect was described as a black male, 25.
Graffiti
- Between July 26 and July 27 in the 13300 block of Glen Mill Road in Rockville. The letter T was sprayed on a door.
- Between 12:01 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on July 28 in the 8800 block of Mayberry Court in Potomac. Black paint was used to write a T on garage doors.
- On Aug. 1 at an unknown time at the Christian Life Center, 11800 Darnestown Road, North Potomac The letters BORF were written on a sign.
- Between 9:15 a.m. on July 31 and 4 p.m. on Aug. 1 in the 12800 block of Tern Drive in North Potomac. Black paint was used to write the letters HOCI and white paint used to scribble on a mailbox in front of the residence.
- Between July 30 and Aug. 1 in the 5800 block of Norman Drive in North Potomac. Black paint was used to write the letters KES on a mailbox.
Graffiti/vandalism
- Between 11 p.m. on July 31 and 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 1 in the 11200 block of Potomac Crest Drive in Potomac. Pictures of swastikas were drawn on a front gate. Also, eggs were thrown at the house and a door handle on a vehicle was super glued.
Armed robbery
- On Aug. 2 at 6 p.m. in the 600 block of Blandford Street in Rockville. The adult female victim was leaving an apartment when the suspects showed up, both carrying guns, and forced her back into the apartment. They asked her where the stash was and then said they were going to tie her up. She broke a window in the apartment and they fled. Suspect No. 1 was described as a black male, 19-24, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, 170-190 pounds, dreadlocks, dark complexion. Suspect No. 2 was described as a black male, 19-24, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, 170-190 pounds, black baseball cap, black T-shirt, jeans.
Attempted robbery
- On July 31 at 3:50 a.m. at the Rockville Metro, 250 Rockville Pike. The adult male victim was waiting for a cab when the suspect came from behind, struck him with an unknown object, and demanded his property. The victim refused and the suspect fled on foot. The suspect was described as a black male, 6 feet tall, 260 pounds, black baseball cap, red T-shirt, baggy blue jeans.
Strong-arm robbery
- On July 30 at 2:20 p.m. in the 1000 block of Baltimore Road in Rockville. The adult male victim and his girlfriend were walking when the suspects started following him and calling him names. They punched the victim, knocked him down, and took cash. A 17-year-old male of unknown address, a 16-year-old male from Rockville, a 17-year-old male from Silver Spring and an 18-year-old male from North Bethesda were arrested.
Vehicle larceny
- 4200 and 4300 blocks of Ivy Glen Road in Silver Spring, at approximately 2:30 a.m. on July 28. Both vehicles had a window broken, charger, socket set taken from one vehicle. The suspect were described as male, unknown race, dark clothing. The suspect vehicle was described as a dark compact.
- 4400 block of Haverford Drive in Rockville, between 11 p.m. on July 27 and 9:30 a.m. on July 28. The victim realized that his vehicle had been broken into when he found his tool kit outside the vehicle. The vehicle had been left unlocked, property taken included tools, knives and flashlights.
- 500 block of North Horners Lane, 700 block of Wilson Avenue, unit block of Winder Court, 700 block of Smallwood Road, 500 block of Beale Avenue, and 400-500 blocks of Anderson Avenue in Rockville., overnight between July 26 and Aug. 3.. Eight of the vehicles had either an unlocked door or unknown entry. All but two vehicles had small items taken. . Other two vehicles were searched but nothing taken.
- 100 block of Halpine Road in Rockville, between 6 p.m. on July 26 and 7:10 a.m. on July 27. Broke window, nothing taken.
- 100 block of Halpine Road in Rockville, between 8 p.m. on July 26 and 1:01 a.m. on July 27. Broke window on a 1998 Honda Civic and cracked the steering column, GPS taken.
- Legacy Hotel, 1775 Rockville Pike in Rockville, between 7 p.m. on July 28 and 5:30 a.m. on July 29. Storage box containing a sleep apnea machine and an air mattress taken from the back of a pickup truck.
- Legacy Hotel, 1775 Rockville Pike in Rockville, between 11:50 p.m. on July 31 and 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 1. Unknown entry, cash, GPS, two iPods, Nintendo DS taken.
Commercial burglary
- Food Stop Mini-Mart, 4820 Boiling Brook Court in North Bethesda, at 4:12 a.m. on Aug. 1. Forced entry, unknown if anything taken. The suspect was described wearing a black hooded-sweatshirt, jeans, black gloves. The suspect vehicle was described as a van.
Residential burglary
- 12000 block of Charles Road in Silver Spring, between 5 p.m. on July 27 and 8 a.m. on July 28. Unknown entry to shed, property taken.
- 4400 block of Haverford Drive in Rockville, between 11 p.m. on July 27 and 9:30 a.m. on July 28. Forced entry, property taken. The suspect was described as an older black male wearing a doo-rag. The suspect vehicle was described as a red Chevrolet, Maryland tags.
- 4400 block of Haverford Drive in Rockville between 11 p.m. on July 27 and 9:30 a.m. on July 28. No forced entry, property taken from shed.
- 100 block of Gibbs Street in Rockville, between 1 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Aug. 1. Forced entry, property taken.
- 300 block of Howard Avenue in Rockville, between 2 p.m. and 2:08 p.m. on Aug. 3. No forced entry, property taken. The suspect was described as a black male, 19.

Attempted rape
- On July 29 between 5:30 p.m. and 8:10 p.m. in the 2000 block of Randolph Road in Silver Spring. Domestic-related, the 23-year-old male suspect from Silver Spring was arrested.
Robbery
- On Aug. 2 in the 16800 block of Georgia Avenue in Olney. Domestic-related, an arrest was made.
Strong-arm robbery
- On Aug. 1 at 10:01 a.m. in the 2200 block of Bel Pre Road in Aspen Hill. The suspect followed the 86-year-old male victim. The suspect pushed the victim into a car and took personal property. Part of the stolen property was later recovered. The suspect was described as a black male, 18, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 180 pounds.
- On July 31 at 11:24 p.m. in the 2300 block of Glenmont Circle in Silver Spring. The incident started as a fight among juvenile acquaintances. Eventually, one suspect struck the victim and took personal property. The suspects were described as a Hispanic male, 15-16, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 120 pounds, crew cut, a male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 120 pounds, crew cut, a male, 15-16, 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 5 inches tall, 130 pounds, crew cut and a Hispanic male, 15-16.
Commercial burglary
- Sunoco Station, 13335 New Hampshire Ave. in Colesville, at an unknown time on Aug. 2. No forced entry, unknown if anything taken.
- Village Beer & Wine, 5526 Norbeck Road in Rockville, at 4:54 a.m. on Aug. 1. Attempted forced entry, none gained, nothing taken. The suspect was described as a male, hooded jacket, gloves, face covered.
- St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 12247 Georgia Ave. in Glenmont, at 8:40 a.m. on July 27. Entry gained, unknown if anything taken.

- 13500 block of Middlevale Lane in Silver Spring, at an unknown time on Aug. 2. Unknown if entry gained, unknown if anything taken.

- 14200 block of North Gate Drive in Layhill on July 30 between 7 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Forced entry, nothing taken.
- 15000 block of Hunter Mountain Lane in Aspen Hill, during daytime hours on July 28. No forced entry to garage, property taken.
- 13300 block of Dauphine Street in Aspen Hill, at 5:34 a.m. on July 30. Unknown entry. The 24-year-old male suspect from Washington D.C. was apprehended before he could leave with any property.
- 13500 block of Arctic Avenue in Rockville, between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. on July 30. Forced entry, property taken.
- 3900 block of Jeffry Street in Silver Spring, at an unknown time between July 30 and Aug. 2. Forced entry, property taken.
