Soccer camp director charged with sex abuse of a minorA soccer coach at a summer soccer camp on River Road has been arrested for inappropriately touching a female camper, police said Tuesday. Juan Jose Aranguri, 46, of the 5700 block of Luxemburg Street in North Bethesda, was arrested Monday and charged with sexual abuse of a minor and two counts of third-degree sexual offense, according to a statement issued by Montgomery County Police. Aranguri was a coach at the South America Soccer Academy, which meets at the Bretton Woods Recreation Center at 15700 River Road. The camper, 12, reported an incident in which she said the coach began to massage her legs July 9 after she developed leg cramps. According to the camp's Web site, Aranguri, who is referred to as JJ, is the director of the soccer academy and a former professional soccer player. The camp is scheduled to run through Aug. 22, and is geared at boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 18, according to the Web site. Police said Aranguri has directed the soccer camp for about 10 years and in that time has coached many children. Police are looking for any information related to inappropriate contact by Aranguri with a minor. To report any information, call Detective Frank Darley in the Family Crimes Division at 240-773-5431.
