Baysox beat New Hampshire in 12th
Ouellette tosses three shutout innings, Donachie knocks in winning run
Bowie struck for three runs in the first inning, but the Fisher Cats scored single runs in the third, sixth and eighth innings to tie the game at 3-3. In the bottom of the 12th, Bowie's Ambiorix Concepcion hit a a one-out double, moved to third on a wild pitch and crossed the plate to end the game on a sacrifice fly by Adam Donachie.
Ryan Ouellette improved to 4-3 with the win, which he earned by tossing three shutout innings, striking out three and allowing one hit.
Trailing 3-2 in the top of the eighth, New Hampshire manufactured a run off Bowie reliever Chad Thall to tie the score. Brad Emaus drew a walk, moved to third on a single by David Cooper and scored when Adam Calderone grounded into a double play that erased Cooper at second base.
Bowie opened the scoring by rallying for three runs after two outs in the first inning. Miguel Abreu hit a two-run single and moved to third on a New Hampshire throwing error. Ambiorix Concepcion followed with a run-scoring double.
New Hampshire started the third inning with a walk and two singles to score its first run off Bowie's Pedro Beato, who then retired the next three batters. The Fisher Cats eventually chased Beato in the sixth after Emaus led off the inning with a homer.
Beato, making his second start for Bowie, scattered five hits over five innings and allowed two runs while striking out four with one walk. Fredy Deza tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings before Thall allowed the tying run in the eighth.
The Baysox have 26 games left and remain locked in a three-way race for the second of two playoff spots in the Eastern League's Southern Division. The Akron Aeros continue to lead the division by eight games over the second-place Reading Phillies and by nine over the third-place Erie SeaWolves. Bowie is 10 1/2 games behind Akron and 2 1/2 behind Reading for second place. The Baysox, in their 17th season as the Baltimore Orioles' Class AA affiliate, are trying to make the Eastern League playoffs for the second consecutive year.
