Police seek suspect in two sexual assaults

Police are searching for a man who they believe sexually assaulted a 12-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man on separate occasions last month in Gaithersburg and Germantown.

On July 18 at about 3 p.m., a 12-year-old was using the restroom at a McDonald’s restaurant at 12982 Middlebrook Road in Germantown when a man approached him from behind and touched his stomach and upper thigh, according to a July 25 police report. The teen pushed the man and ran away, the report states.

The assailant was described in the report as a black man, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches, 160 to 165 pounds with a mustache or beard, dreadlocks, the tattoo of a tiger on his left shoulder and wearing a red Bulls jersey and jean shorts, according to the report.

On July 27 at about 2:45 p.m., the 20-year-old was standing at a urinal in the Rio Mall, at 9811 Washingtonian Blvd. in Gaithersburg, when a man standing at a urinal next to him reach over and grabbed his genitals, according to an Aug. 1 police report.

Police describe the assailant as a black man, 18 to 22 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, between 185 to 200 pounds with brown eyes and dreadlocks or a twist hair style.
