Rockville city police reports
The following is a summary of incidents to which Rockville City Police responded during the past few weeks. The words "arrested" and "charged" do not imply guilt.
Illegal Drug Arrests
-July 24, 1:34 a.m., Ashley Marie Sippel, 19, of Rockville was arrested for alleged possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance paraphernalia following a traffic stop in the 500 block of Hungerford Drive. She was issued a criminal citation and released.
-July 25, 3:20 a.m., Douglas David Stermer, 44, of Takoma Park was arrested for alleged possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance (marijuana) following a traffic stop at the intersection of Veirs Mill Road and Bradley Avenue.
Assault Arrests
-July 24, 11:04 a.m., female juvenile, 16, of Rockville was arrested for alleged second-degree assault following a complaint in the14000 block of Cove Lane. The juvenile was processed and released to the custody of her uncle.
Theft Arrests
-July 20, 5:42 p.m., Muhammad Hajj Abdul-Maleek, 47, of Rockville was arrested for alleged theft and alleged extortion following a complaint in the unit block of Maryland Avenue.
Vandalism Arrests
-July 23, 11:25 a.m., Gregory Phillip Sanders, 20, of Rockville was arrested for alleged destruction of property following a complaint in the 200 block of Rockville Pike. He was issued a criminal citation and released at the scene.
Burglary Arrests
-July 18, 6:57 p.m., male juvenile, 12, and two male juveniles, both age14, all of Rockville, were arrested for alleged fourth-degree burglary following a complaint in the 600 block of Great Falls Road. They were processed and released to the custody of their mothers.
DUI Arrests
-July 25, 7:56 a.m., Edwin E. Mijango Martinez, 28, of Gaithersburg was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence following an accident in the 400 block of Monroe Street.
Other arrests
-July 20, 5:30 p.m., Suzette Ann Redwood, 36, of no fixed address, was arrested for alleged disorderly conduct and alleged trespassing following a complaint in the 1300 block of Piccard Drive.
-July 21, 9:20 p.m., male juvenile, 16, of Rockville was arrested for alleged underage possession of a tobacco product following a complaint in the 100 block of Gibbs Street. He was issued a citation and released.
-July 23, 11:10 p.m., Linda Moraa Nyanchoka, 25, of Hyattsville was arrested for alleged fraudulent display of government identification document belonging to someone else, and Viona K. Nyanchoka, 23, also of Hyattsville, was arrested for allegedly lending a government identification document with fraudulent intent following a complaint in the 100 block of Gibbs Street. Both were issued citations and released.
Thefts
-Between July 16 and 18, 700 block of Wilson Avenue, unknown person(s) took a backpack containing money and two ID cards from an unlocked vehicle.
-Between July 16 and 18, 517 Carr Avenue, unknown person(s) took three purses from an unlocked vehicle.
-July 18, between 12:01 and 5:30 a.m., 600 block of Smallwood Road, unknown person(s) took a GPS system and money from an unlocked vehicle.
-Between July 20 and 21, 1000 block of Grandin Avenue, unknown person(s) took money from a purse in a classroom.
-Between June20 and 21, 1700 block of Rockville Pike, unknown person(s) took an iPod, a DVD player, 20 DVDs, a GPS cable, money, a video game console, a video game, three headphones and a flashlight from an unlocked vehicle.
-July 21, between 7:55 and 10:30 a.m., unit block of Taft Court, unknown person(s) took a laptop from an office.
Burglaries
-Between July 17 and 22, 2300 block of Pinneberg Avenue, unknown person(s) removed a storm window and broke the inside glass window to gain access into a residence. Unknown items stolen.
-Between July 19 and 20, 400 block of Southlawn Lane, unknown person(s) gained access by prying open a garage door of a lawn service business and took money.
-July 19, between 8:54 and 8:56 p.m., 600 block of Lofstrand Lane, unknown person(s) gained access by breaking the front door of business. Nothing taken.
-July 21, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., 300 block of Baltimore Road, unknown person(s) gained access through an unlocked front door of a residence and took four4 video game consoles, seven video games, four4 video game controllers, a laptop, two iPods and a portable DVD player.
