Fort Washington swimmers had a number of solid efforts at the annual Prince-Mont All-Star meet at Belair Swim & Racquet Saturday morning.

Don Brazelton finished second in the 9-10 boys’ 25-meter backstroke (20.42 seconds). Arthur Walton placed third in the 13-14 boys’ 50 breaststroke (36.29) and was seventh in the 50 back. Colleen McFadden was fifth in the 15-18 girls’ 50 butterfly. Rebecca Bonomo finished sixth in the 11-12 girls’ 50 breast. The Sharks’ boys’ 9-18 graduated relay quartet, anchored by Star⁄Gazette first-team choice Prescott Stewart (Oxon Hill High) finished fifth.

Marlton Swim & Recreation also had a solid showing at the All-Star meet. Michael Gray won both the 15-18 boys’ 50 fly (27.90) and 50 back (28.84) and finished third in the 100 free. Zack Spain placed fourth in the boys’ 8-under 25 breast, while Ben Lawless took fifth in both the boys’ 9-10 25 fly and 25 back. Jacob Dohrman was sixth in the 11-12 boys’ 50 back.

Temple Hills sent nearly a dozen swimmers to the meet, but only one of them cracked the top 10 in any of the individual events. Jordan Brown finished fifth in the 15-18 boys’ 50 back and placed seventh in the 50 fly. The pool’s girls’ 9-18 graduated relay (2:17.91) quartet of Gloria Benton, Rachel Harris, Shelley Vermeire and Jessica Collins dropped more than four seconds off its seed time and placed 10th.
