Moms give advice
The Gazette asked several stay-at-home and working mothers for advice on how to successfully navigate the full-time job of caring for children at home.
"My biggest advice is to get a support group. You can bounce ideas off each other, gripe about problems. It really helps to know that you're not alone."
Maria Browning of Frederick, stay-at-home mom for five years
"Do something for yourself once a week to keep yourself grounded. Either go out with friends to happy hour or get your nails done. Not something you really need to do, just something you want to do."
Allison Adam of Frederick, stay-at-home mom for three years
"It's important to set your financial goals long-term and to realize that time at home is a huge investment. I think that you get the reward later in life in how well-adjusted the kids are."
Julie Gaines of Frederick, former stay-at-home mom
