– Chris Lewis Gov. Thomas Johnson; Led the Patriots to a rout in the Frederick County girls championships.
Runner of the Year
– Stephanie Bryan, Sr., Gov. Thomas Johnson
Field Athlete of the Year
– Sarah Wrieden, Sr., Middletown
Battling through shin splints, Wrieden scored a perfect 40 points by herself at the Frederick County Championships, winning the triple jump and long jump along with both the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles. She also placed third in the Class 2A triple jump.
First Team
Bridget Nolan, Sr., Linganore, 800 – Ran the fastest area 800 at 2:21.74, placing fourth in the Class 3A meet.
Cody Mezebish, Sr., South Carroll, 400 – Took second in the Class 2A 400 in 58.04.
Christina Giampalmo, Sr., Glenelg, 800 – Her sixth-place run in the Class 2A 800 was a blazing fast 2:22.78.
Emma King, Fr., Gov. Thomas Johnson, Pole Vault – Had a break-out performance at the state championship, clearing 10 feet, 6 inches which was three feet higher than her seeded mark.
Breana Brownfield, Soph., Gov. Thomas Johnson, High Jump/Long Jump – Crucial component of the Patriots next wave of field stars, high jumped 5-4 and long jump 15-11.5.
Morgan Carroll, Sr., Frederick, High Jump, 400 – Placed fifth in the Class 3A high jump, won the Frederick County title in the 400.
Alisha James, Soph., Frederick, 100-200 – County Champion in the 100 and 200. Also lynchpin on state champion 4-by-100 relay squad.
Emma Mayne, Sr., Linganore, Shot Put – Placed second in the Class 3A shot put.
Tamara Overjera, Fr., Gov. Thomas Johnson, discus/shot put – Took second in the Class 4A state discus and eighth in the shot put.
Melissa Shirley, Sr., Middletown Shot Put/Discus – Won the Class 2A state discus title and was second in the 2A shot put.
Savanna Plombon, Jr., Gov. Thomas Johnson, 800 – County champion in the 800.
Frederick 4-by-100 – (Qurontez Miller, Fr., Paige Galloway, Sr., Morgan Carroll, Sr., Alisha James, Soph.)
Frederick 4-by-200 – (Qurontez Miller, Fr., Marion Droe, Soph., Morgan Carroll, Sr., Alisha James, Soph.)
Walkersville 4-by-400 – (Chelsea Young, Sr., Rachel McCluskey, Sr., Paige Zaharoff, Sr., Rachel Ward, Sr.)
