Runner of the Year
Brittney Caudle,
Middletown, Sr.
When she first ran for the Knights, she was a promising sprinter. But by adding distance every year, she finished as a dominating distance runner, placing second in the state's 800, 1,600 and 3,200 runs.
Field athlete of the Year
Emily Vannoy, Thomas Johnson, Sr.
The world-class throwing expert was a shoe-in for her State titles in the shot put and discus, and should have no trouble adjusting to being the thrower for Virginia next year.
Coach of the Year

Graduation robbed the Patriots of some of their sprinting speed, but it didn't stop them from rolling to a Frederick County title and taking third at the state meet.
First Team
Victoria Kennedy, Tuscarora, Sr., 100/200
One of Frederick County's top sprinters, captured the 100 and 200 meters. A four-time champ in the 100.
Chowan Brightful, Linganore, Sr., 110H/High jump
Took second in the 4A state high jump and fourth in the 100 hurdles.
Cenarda Jackson, Thomas Johnson., Sr., 110H/Long Jump
Along with winning the Class 4A long jump, she was also third in the 100 hurdles.
Chardae Harris, Urbana, Sr., Triple Jump
Hawks versitile athlete was fourth in the triple jump at the 3A state championships.
Cody Mezebish, South Carroll, Jr., 100/200
Placed in four events in the Class 1A state meet. Including third in the 200.
Sarah Lueck, Urbana, Sr., 300 hurdles/pole vault
Known for her prowess in the pole vault, Lueck was also a hurdles standout.
Middletown 4x200 relay (Sarah Wreiden, Jr.; Tara Shaffer, Soph.; Alycia Giauque, Soph.; Jenna Caudle, Soph.)
Turned in some of the fastest times of th year without a senior.
South Carroll 4x400 relay (Caitlin Martin, Sr.; Rebecca Chmielewski Soph.; Tianna Quiambao-Panas Sr., Mezebish)
Carroll County champs.
Middletown 4x800 relay (Katie Bussard, soph.; Jessica Elliot, Fr., Gretchen Whitesell, soph.; Brittney Caudle, Sr.)
Took fifth place at the 2A state meet.
South Carroll 4x100 relay (Alexis Bosiacki Jr.; Nina Boston, Sr.; Bailey Heishman, Fr..; Mezebish)
Finished third in the 1A state championships.
Sara Fisher, Brunswick, Sr., 1,600/3,200
In her final meet for the Railroaders, she placed second in both of her races at the Class 1A state meet.
Stephanie Bryan, Thomas Johnson, Jr., 1,600/3,200
Took third place in the 4A state meet, and fourth in the 1,600. Won the county 1,600.
Sarah Wreiden, Middletown, Jr., Triple Jump
Won conference titles in the long jump and triple jmp, also fifth at the state meet.
Courtney Gray, Tuscarora, Sr., Triple Jump
All-around athlete has tremendous potential to become a heptathlete at the next level.

Finished fourth in the Class 4A state meet.
Melissa Shirley, Middletown, Jr., Shot put/discus
Was fifth in both evetns at the state championships.
Morgan Carroll, Frederick, Jr., 400
Dashed to the county crown in the 400 and placed sixth at the 3A state meet in the high jump.
Allison Hemme, Middletown, Sr., Pole Vault
Won the 2A state pole vault competition.
Katie Pavic, Urbana, Fr., High Jump
Earned an upset victory in the county championships.
Sophie Grizzle, Brunswick, Jr., High Jump
Railroaders' athlete grabbed third place at the 1A meet.
