Scot Morrow would have made a great New Market mayor
As Americans, one of the privileges we enjoy is the freedom of speech. One of the most disgusting abuses of this privilege was Blaine Young's commentary that appeared in The Gazette on June 11.
I know Scot Morrow. Scot is one of the most honest, likeable and down-to-earth persons you could meet; he chose to run in the recent mayoral election because he truly cares about the town in which he lives.
Obviously, Mr. Young has never met Scot because he didn't even spell his name correctly. Evidently, the offense Scot committed in the eyes of some in town is that he had the audacity to run against the current administration in New Market.
The current elected officials, as well as their "friends," are nothing more than petulant children acting out because they perceived someone got in their way.
Scot would have made an outstanding mayor and taken the town beyond the bitterness and rancor on which Mayor Winslow Burhans III thrives.
