Fort Washington Sharks fall in Prince-Mont opener
The Fort Washington Sharks began the Prince-Mont Swim League season with a 290-274 loss to Russert. The lead changed hands several times before Russert emerged victorious.
David King (10-and-under butterfly and 8-and-under freestyle and backstroke) and Marcus Dennis (13-14 butterfly, freestyle and breast stroke) were triple winners for Fort Washington. Akeyla Holley was a double winner (11-12 girls' free and individual medley), along with Walton Irving (15-18 boys' butterfly and IM). Gabby Stevenson, Joey Patrizio, Ryan Bonomo, Jared Saunders, Kiara Leath, Becca Bonomo, Brandon Dennis, Michael Szymanski and Nick Patrizio also won races for Fort Washington.
Basem Magd, Brandon Dennis, Irving and Joey Patrizio combined to win the boys' medley relay. Tori Camardella, Erin Dullahan, Eva Gonzalez and Marlena Fernandez won the girls' medley relay. The Fort Washington girls' graduated relay of Stevenson, Holley, Gaby Griffin and Fernandez also was victorious.

Summer camps
The Yellow Jackets basketball camp for boys ages 7-17 will be held during the weeks of June 22-26, June 29-July 3 and July 20-24 at Gwynn Park High School. Looking for players

The Prince George's Chargers of the Metropolitan Washington American Youth Football League are seeking coaches, players and cheerleaders for the fall 2009 season. Coaches are needed for the Tiny Mite (ages 5-6), Junior Mite (6-7) and Cadet (8-10) divisions. Players ages 5-15 are needed for tackle football teams. Coaches needed
The 301 Panthers football organization is looking for coaches. Based in Brandywine, the Panthers are part of the Metropolitan Washington American Youth Football League and have teams for ages 5-15. No experience is necessary, but candidates must be willing to attend training and two clinics per year and must be available for practices three nights a week at Gwynn Park Middle School and games on Saturdays.
