Our annual guide to the county

We’ve stuffed this guide with information on the county and each of the communities we cover. So if you live in Thurmont, Brunswick or Frederick, we have the lowdown on who’s who and what’s where. We’ve included lists of key institutions from schools to libraries to parks to places of worship.

Because Frederick is growing so quickly (our population rose 30 percent between 1990 and 2000), we may have overlooked something you need. All of this gives us an opportunity to explain how The Gazette works. We print 5 newspapers each week in Frederick County and cover what’s happening in your county, your town, your city and sometimes your neighborhood. We tell you how your child’s sports team is doing, what the schools are planning, how business is faring, and let the world know about your celebrations — weddings, births, accomplishments.
