Recycling at its finest
You simply cannot imagine how many computers, TVs and other electronic items will not be going to our solid waste disposal facilities thanks to a recycling collection event June 7 at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School.
Almost 700 cars were unloaded during a four-hour collection organized by the county's Division of Solid Waste Services and Bethesda Green. An electronics recycling company hauled the mountains of unwanted equipment to a facility where the usable parts will be removed and given new life.
The county has had similar collections over the past year. These drop-offs help Montgomery County move closer to the goal of recycling 50 percent of the solid waste we're generating.
