The National Council of the Boy Scouts of America supports more than 300 local councils. Tiger Cubs is a school-year program for first grade or 7-year-old boys with an adult. The Cub Scouting program is for boys in the second through fifth grade or who are ages 8 through 10, and a program called Webelos (We’ll Be Loyal Scouts) is for fourth- or fifth-grade boys (age 10). The Boy Scouting program is for ages 11-17, Varsity Scouting is for ages 14-17.

Girl Scouts is the world’s largest organization for girls and is open to ages 5-18. Daisy Girl Scouts are ages 5-6 and in kindergarten or first grade. Brownie Girl Scouts are ages 5-8 and in first, second or third grade. Cadette Girl Scouts are ages 11-14 and in sixth, seventh, eighth or ninth grade. Senior Girl Scouts are ages 14-17 and in ninth through the 12th grade.

Xtreme Teens
Friday and Saturday night programs for ages 12-17 are from 7 to 10 p.m. at the county’s community centers. The program includes sports, games, trips, workshops and tournaments. The program is free with a center identification.
