Continued to excel after transferring to Northwest in early March. Repeated as county, region champ in 100, 200, 400 dashes, won state title in 400.

Kellie Redmond, Wootton, third year
Despite transfer of Ekponé, kept young Patriots squad thriving, leading them to second-place finish at counties, third at regionals, sixth at states.
First Team
Grace Corbett, Wootton, Fr., 800 meters
Rookie emerged as part of young, talented Patriots team. Outstanding in winning county, region titles in 800, latter in season-best time of 2:18.70.
Addie Tousley, B-CC, Sr., 1,600 meters
Wrapped up strong distance career for Barons as Class 3A state champion in 1,600, 3,200. Runner-up in both events at regionals.
Jessie Rubin, Wootton, Jr., 3,200 meters
Swept county, regional, state races in 3,200. Best time of season was 11:03.52. Also won county, regional titles in 1,600, with second-place finish at states.
Katherine Salke, Sherwood, Sr., 100 hurdles
County, regional champion placed fifth at 4A state meet despite broken foot. Emerged as county's fastest late in career with 14.60 at regionals.
Olivia Durr, Poolesville, Sr., 300 hurdles
Versitile Falcon ended career with four state titles, as one of county's most consistent hurdlers. Class 1A West Region champion (46.73)
Churchill 4x100 relay (Taylor Caulk, Fr.; Katie Wolf, Jr.; Amirah Polite, Sr.; Serenah Polite, Soph.)
Regional champions placed fourth at states, where they also ran fastest time (48.91) by county team this season.
Clarksburg 4x200 relay (Charnay Ryland, Jr.; Page Harris, Sr.; Courtney Clark, Sr.; Turquoia Johnson, Sr.)
Regional, state champions sprinted county-best 1:43.28 at Class 2A state meet.
Northwest 4x400 relay (Britt Eckerstrom, Soph.; India Knight, Fr.; Alyssa Henshaw, Jr.; Olivia Ekponé, Soph.)
Ran away with county, regional, state crowns; all four return next year. Time of 3:51.29 at states good enough for sixth all-time in state history.
Wootton 4x800 relay (Corinne Duvall, Jr.; Jessie Rubin, Jr.; Andrea Maxwell, Jr.; Grace Corbett, Fr.)
Regional champs, county runners-up ran way to season-best 9:23.15 in state finals to win.
Vanessa Jules, Paint Branch, Sr., High jump
Class 3A West Region champion placed second at states. Cleared season-best 5 feet, 5 inches at Penn Relays.
Bailee Freeman, Clarksburg, Fr., Long jump
Surprise rookie contributor for Coyotes took home Class 2A state title, runner-up medal at regionals (17 feet, 10 inches).
Arielle Statham, Paint Branch, Sr., Triple jump
University of Maryland-bound senior captured county, regional, state triple jump titles. Broke 40-foot barrier at states (40 feet, 4 inches).
Turquoia Johnson, Clarksburg, Sr., Shot put
Won county championship, finished runner-up at state and regional meets. County-best throw of 37 feet, 11 inches came on March 31.
Octavia King, Blake, Sr., Discus
County, 4A West Region champion came in third at 4A states. Threw career-best at regional meet (117 feet, 11 inches).
Lauren Rose, Gaithersburg, Sr., Pole vault
By far best pole vaulter in county, took county and regional crowns before finishing runner-up at 4A states (9 feet, 6 inches).
