Monday's double homicide adds to toll in Capitol Heights
Three people killed in four-day span in the city
A Monday night double homicide marks three deaths in Capitol Heights in the past four days, and Prince George's County police officials said they continue to search for suspects.
Police responded about 11:34 p.m. to reports of a shooting in the 1300 block of Rollins Avenue, said Cpl. Henry Tippett, a county police spokesman. Police discovered Sean Oneil Ellis, 24, of the 1900 block of Colette Terrace in District Heights, and Anthony Stevens Mckelvin, 28, of the 4200 block of Suitland Road in Suitland, inside a vehicle suffering from upper body gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead on the scene, Tippett said.
No arrests have been made and no motive has been established in the shooting which is still under investigation, Tippett said.
No arrests have been made yet in the Friday homicide in the 1700 block of Kenilworth Avenue which claimed the life of Jimmie Lee Hunter, 34, of Temple Hills. Police found Hunter at about 7:25 p.m. in the parking lot of Frank's Tavern suffering from an upper body gunshot wound.
The cases do not appear to be related at this time, said Lt. Tammy Sparkman, a county police spokeswoman.
As of Tuesday afternoon, police were still investigating both cases.
